I have been marketing online now for about six months, and started using Aweber right from the start, from a recommendation. I simply did as I was told and put in my email messages, I didn’t really know what I was doing. Then I just left it to do its job. Which is fine and simple and just what I wanted really.
Eventually I found that I could send out messages whenever I wanted, in addition to my regular letters. I began to send out a weekly ‘broadcast’ telling my list about my weekly webinars. After that, just a short while ago, I discovered that Aweber had started doing opt-in forms! Excellent timing for me, because it was one area I was having trouble sorting out and my forms were dull! I of course have tried them out and found the process easy to follow, with lots of choices. Neat.
Today I decided I should take a closer look at Aweber, to see if I was missing anything else. What I found was great! For a start they have a newsletter you can opt-in to with lots of helpful hints and tips to get more from your autoresponder. They also give you the free gift of a downloadable pdf on ‘email deliverability’ which has lots of useful suggestions making sure your emails are actually arriving at their destination, including avoiding being classed as spam!
One great pointer it gave me was to always do a plain text email as well as an html one. I have always thought that it wasn’t worth doing a plain one as well. However, Aweber made me realise two things. First spammers do not bother with a plain version, so it makes it clear you are not a spammer. Secondly so many people read their emails on a mobile device of some sort nowadays, and many of these do not support html. So alot of people would not be able to read your message. Ok, I’m sold! Every little helps!!
Aweber also do something else I didn’t know about but now plan to use! I know a little about RSS feeds, but not much. (My next article topic quite probably!!) Well apparently I am not alone, 97% of people do not know how to subscribe to RSS feeds! Amazing! What Aweber do then, is to do a ‘blog broadcast’ of your RSS feed to all your opt-ins!
Each time you write a new article and put it on your blog, they take the RSS feed and turn it (magically!) into n email! You set it up in Aweber (start under messages), choose your template and Aweber do the rest. You can set it up to send on certain days, or whenever you want. If you want to see the broadcast before it is sent you can do. Incredible!
Aweber are also on Twitter, so you can follow them @Aweber. They are definitely worth following as they give hints and tips, tell you about webinars and help anyone who is having a problem. This is exactly why Twitter is so good for business!
Also, they do regular webinars to help with everything from basic set up to doing opt-in forms, great for those of us who are not technically minded and often need help.
So there you are, Aweber is so much more than an Autoresponder!! Dig a little deeper you guys!
