You can tell them that you were impressed by their professionalism at the show or give them a sincere compliment and invite them to your phone call.

This phone call should be no longer than 30 or 40 minutes and should be planned out with at least an outline of what you want to say to your potential leads. You may have some of your business builders help you and make it a team effort. If you do this as a weekly, informative call and people get value from the call you will develop some of your leads into new team members in your organization. This may take time to work, as any new marketing strategy does but it is one example of a way to reconnect with your own organization and to bring in new people as well.

There are so many network marketers who spend time hoping for their dreams to come true but they don’t spend consistent, focused time on the money making activities that will bring them closer to their financial goals!  I believe this may partially be true because they don’t know how to run a real business!

I cannot tell you how to run a business in this article because of time constraints but I can offer some tips on how to make money in MLM and where you can learn to treat your network marketing businss like a real business. Once you really get this, you will see your business transform!

First, you need to focus on the money making activities of the business. They are getting leads, following up with your leads and current downline organization, and creating effective marketing campaigns. When I say focus I mean spending at least 65 to 70% of your time on these activities.  Learn how to prospect, the importance of follow up and creating good marketing techniques that you can see results from. Follow the way successful people in your MLM company have reached their goals, go onto their blogs and read about their stories to get helpful, free information you can apply to your own network marketing business. You need to be resourceful in your own business and you will need to learn to research and educate yourself!

Another thing you will need to do is be sure you know your tax write offs and other types of business tasks to run the fiscal portion of your network marketing business. This is a real business! You need to keep good records of things like: samples you have bought for promotions, business expenses and other business costs. Which brings me to business organization.

Record keeping is also important to track your progress so that you know the activities that are working for you and those that are not! For instance if you have been able to enroll 30 people over 3 months from participating in expos and you have kept records of this and then you compare it to visiting a number of networking events where you did not enroll anyone from them. You might focus a little more on participating in those successful events. See what I mean? This process takes a while to get enough records to see a pattern, but this type of record keeping can mean the difference between an MLM business that grows very slowly with a ton of effort for each person enrolled or a fast growing, money-making machine that runs very smoothly because you are only focused on the things that make money in MLM!!

So my advice to you is to educate yourself, focus on the money making activities, keep good records for the fiscal portion of your business and know exactly what is working for your business and what is not. Then stay away from what is not working and run towards what is working! Remember, you can hope you will be financially free all you want, but it is those who actually treat their network marketing business like a real business who come out the winners in this industry!

There are a few tasks that every network marketer should spend the majority of their time doing. They include getting MLM leads, talking with those leads, following up with them and setting up marketing systems. These are money-making activities and when you focus on them, you will begin to grow your network marketing business fast!

One thing that can hold people back is if they don’t know how to find MLM leads! It is something that every network marketer I know, even the high income earners are always working to find the answer to.  Once you know where to find leads, it is just a matter of taking action to getting some of those leads to join your network marketing business, building their own organizations!

Here is a typical day that would yield you thirty or more MLM leads in one day. These take work and time, but if you make this a part of your regular routine, you will find that these techniques get easier and more effective as you master them.

Spend two hours calling ten to twenty five realtor signs. Tell them you are a business person in the local area expanding your business. Are you interested in a side project that has nothing to do with Real Estate but will bring in an extra stream of income. If they say yes, make an appointment with them to talk with them in person about your opportunity. This can yield you from five to ten MLM leads.

Take another 2 hours to go to at least eight to ten coffee shops and local diners and other business establishments that have community boards where business people leave their business cards. These people can be great prospects because they are looking for business. Grab as many cards as you can from these boards. You can easily get ten to 20 MLM leads every day this way!

Twice a week or so, you should attend local networking events and expos. They can be a great way to pick up twenty or more MLM leads. Talk with the marketing professionals who run their company or organization’s show booth. Grab their business cards and give each one of them a call, again asking them if they are open to a side project that wouldn’t interfere with their current job but would bring in another stream of income.

Hold a prospect phone call or a webinar once a week that describes your business opportunity. This call or webinar should be put together ahead of time and you may want to collaborate with some of your team members. This can be a very effective tactic but will take time to work out the bugs and get comfortable with it.

Use social media, like Twitter and Facebook, to invite people to the call.  You can easily invite 15 to 20 new leads to these calls and webinars. You can also invite MLM leads you have found offline as well and invite them to the calls. These calls need to be professional, not give away too much information but enough to spark their interest and want to learn more about building their own network marketing business.

These tactics work. I have used all of them and continue to. They take time to learn but are very effective business tools to use when you are looking for high quality business MLM leads. They will help you grow your network marketing business because they directly help you build your team, it happens quickly, on a daily basis and they are simple steps that can be duplicated by your team! Try them on a consistent basis for two months as see what happens to your business!

The most successful people I know in network marketing use their own MLM story to motivate others.  This can be extremely effective when you are trying to convert a lead into a new business builder or when you try to influence others in your network marketing business.

I have observed that for most people, it is natural to want to know what your future is going to bring.  Most people want to know they can be successful in something and when they hear the stories of how others did it, they realize that it can be done! This is where your own MLM story comes in. If you tell your own story to your prospective and current business builders and you will find that often times, you can influence the way others think about your business and you can motivate them to want to duplicate what you did to become successful.

For instance, here is my short story about my own success in MLM.  I joined my network marketing company about three years ago because I was going through a health issue and our company’s health and wellness products helped me recover from that issue. The funny thing is, my parents and sister had been using these products for three quarters of a year and I would not listen to them because I was skeptical. These products worked so well that they completely changed my health around! They are the best products in the world by far and I believe in them 120%!  I did not even think about starting my own network marketing business until everyone started telling me that I looked wonderful and kept asking me what I was doing. So I decided to enroll a few people into my own little organization.  I shortly began to earn the money to pay for my products! Two years later I received my 1099 tax form with an income of $99,999.75! I was able to build an income, just twenty-five cents short of a six figure income per year, in just about two years!

I let them respond to my story. If they are positive and want to know more I will let them know that I was able to get the best training from this company and it takes a lot of hard work but that if I can do it, they can too! The fact is, when I am able to convey my excitement, the proof that I actually made it (I will actually show them my 1099!), and I can instill into them that I will help them get there too, many people want to get started right away. If they respond positively to you, this is what you can tell them. Say, “It sounds like you are ready to get started too!” Some may not be ready and want more information before joining, but there are some who will see your success as credible proof and will be ready right there and then.

My advice is to get your story together in an organized way. Make sure it at a level that others can relate to.  Include some of the hard times or the apprehensiveness you had. Also include your successes and why you like your company! If you can keep your story under thirty to forty seconds, you will keep your prospect’s and team member’s attention. Write your story out. Know it completely and be able to tell it to every single person, when appropriate, and with emotion! Try this with a few people and you will be amazed at how your MLM story will influence others in your network marketing business!

Have you ever heard the phrase, “You can never say the wrong thing to the right person and you can never say the right thing to the wrong person”? I believe this is true, but I also think that if you learn to phrase things in a certain way, and say the right things to your MLM prospects, you will attract more people to your network marketing business.  It is also what you don’t say that might influence someone to join your business. The following examples were taught to me by a great MLM guru, who is one of the top income earners in MLM.

For instance, the following phrase should be said after presenting your opportunity to a group of MLM prospects and you have asked them for feedback. When you are talking with them, one on one, ask how they liked the presentation. This sets you up to ask them to join your business. Many will say that it was a great presentation and will give you positive feedback. That is the point at which you should say, ”Sounds like you are ready to get started”. Don’t go on and on about it. Just say those words and wait for them to answer you.

This particular phrase really works very well and can really help you grow your network marketing business. It does not sound aggressive and they will not think you are trying to sell them. You are simply stating the obvious to them. If they agree with you then they are ready to join, then enroll them into your network marketing business!

Another scenario is when you are trying to get leads and you are talking with your MLM prospect on the phone. This person either called you from one of your marketing campaigns online or you called them from one of your offline prospecting techniques. These prospects, most likely, have not yet heard about your opportunity and they do not yet know if they are “interested” in your business yet, so why do most of us ask, ”Are you interested in learning about a way to earn another stream of income.”  Most people are NOT yet interested!

Instead try asking them, “Are you open to a side project that will provide another stream of income to you?” Do you see how different this sounds? It is asking them to be open and find out information! It is telling them that it is a side project, which won’t interfere with their current schedule and it is enticing them to learn more, especially if they need extra income! This phrase alone has the potential of exploding your network marketing business because you will generate many more leads that want to hear your presentation.

Here is one last piece of advice. Don’t try to sell your company’s products or fire hose people with information up front.  Most times this will not work and will really turn off a potential MLM prospect.  Instead try “dripping” information on them and giving them more information as they ask for it.  Remember that you hold the key to them earning more money if they want to learn from you. Don’t give away the goods too fast! It will also weed out the people who don’t have the desire or ambition to go after it! You want people who are seeking you out and have that burning desire to grow their own network marketing business!
